Libsyn’s embeddable wizard player seems to be having some issues at the moment. So follow
THIS link to play episode four of Pod Thing, via our
Libsyn page.
In this episode (the last one for the week, I promise) Jeremy and I discuss the plausibility of designing a real life Jurassic park, and how to reverse engineer a dinosaur from a chicken. A discussion of NASA’s newest Mars Rover curiosity; which will reach the Martian atmosphere early Monday morning, not Sunday, as we say in the show- leads to talk of alternative biology and life on other planets. We also manage to take a look at a few trailers, the sci-fi movie Prototype, which spurs a brief discussion about the technological singularity. And I confess my unconditional love for Hugh Laurie when we discuss his new movie The Oranges.
So obviously, I spent the majority of my free time this weekend finally posting episodes of my podcast. Cause, I don’t know if you know this but, turns out, recording and producing a podcast, is kind of time consuming. Also, I had this whole plan to post one every other day along with some science stuff, and then Libsyn decided to have kind of a seizure where it’s embeddable player is concerned.
Now, the reason I decided to publish the first four episodes all at once. First, I wanted there to actually be something to listen to before I submitted the RSS feed to iTunes, which, I did earlier today. Second, I wanted to get to this episode. In part, so that we weren’t talking about things that happened a month ago anymore. But also, because it’s the most science-y episode we’ve yet recorded.
So, while I haven’t really been pushing you guys too hard to pay attention to these things, since the show has largely focused on movies and games up until this point. Although, if you missed it, we did manage to have a fairly lengthy discussion about the space program and private industry in Episode 2. So If you haven’t given any of the others a shot yet, then please, check out this episode of the show.
